Liverwort

  • Liverwort has a prostrate, flattened thallus.
  • The small circular structures on the thallus are gemma cups which produce asexual gemmae – these are like a ‘bud’ that can detach from the parent liverwort and form a new plant;
  • are found in deep shade, in moist soil.

Pleurosorus rutifolius/subglandulosus -Blanket fern

  • A small fern (<10 cm high);
  • found mainly on the eastern side of Rocky Hill, when it is shaded by rock overhangs.
