Amyema miquelii, box mistletoe

  • Stem hemiparasite;
  • attached to tree by a single swollen base.
  • On Rocky Hill the box mistletoe is found on white box (Eucalyptus albens) trees where its dark green leaves and pendulous foliage make it stand out from the bluish/white leaves of the eucalypt;
  • the red mistletoe flowers attract a wide range of birds
